 While the weeks and months before marriage are filled with important planning for your wedding day, we believe that premarital counseling is essential preparation for your life long marriage.
Counseling together will give you an opportunity
• to prepare and plan for the important first year of marriage;
• clarify the strengths of your relationship and the values you share;
• discuss the places you find difficult in your relationship – and to build the skills you need to grow.
 The Samaritan Counseling Center offers a pre-marital counseling package of six sessions for you as a couple, focusing on your relationship strengths and growth areas.
Because you will be working with a counselor as a couple, rather than in a large group, you can learn more about one another and your relationship.
Statistics continue to report that more than 50% of marriages, and 75% of remarriages end in divorce.
Counseling together before marriage is one of the most important ways a couple can prepare for a life-long marriage!
Counseling includes the nationally recognized inventory PREPARE: A Pre-marital Personal and Relationship Evaluation.
Counseling sessions focus on:
• your journey as a couple—your relationship history;
• drawing a family map to explore your experience and expectations of marriage and family relationships;
• discussion of the results of the PREPARE inventory including areas such as communication, children and parenting, conflict resolution, financial management, religious values and practices…
The cost of counseling is:
$600 for six 50 minute sessions, which includes the PREPARE inventory (cost of $35)
A sliding fee scale is available if cost is a financial concern.
