Your donation makes it possible

We believe our services are more important than ever, given the fast-paced and fragmented society in which we live and the growing need for counseling and spiritual resources. Generous donors like you are crucial to our ability to offer programming and therapy to people in our community in need of healing and growth. To give specifically to the Silent Samaritan or Wellspring fund, please indicate the fund in PayPal under "Instructions for Recipient." Thank you!

Our Mission: to offer hope, healing & growth to the Chicago and North Shore communities through education and counseling

At the Samaritan Counseling Center, we offer a safe place for discovery, healing and growth. In our fast-paced world, it is difficult to escape the pressures and complexities of daily living. We believe psychology and theology – together – provide a foundation for mental health, personal growth, resolving problems and getting more out of life.

We provide a unique kind of psychotherapy that takes spirituality and faith seriously to meet the needs of individuals of all faiths or no faith.

Our offices are conveniently located all along Chicago’s North Shore with ample parking. Our staff therapists are licensed, certified and theologically informed. The Samaritan Center is accredited by the Denver-based Samaritan organization and American Association of Pastoral Counselors.

Getting Started…

Please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or call our confidential intake line (847-446-6955, ext. 20) and leave a message for our Clinical Director, Dr. Sue Priebe.

She will return your call and ask for a brief description of why you are seeking counseling, and then determine the therapist who would be the best match for you. Based on the information you give her, she will then ask one of our therapists to call you and make a first appointment.

After you have scheduled an appointment with a counselor, you may print and fill out the intake form by using the link below and take it with you on your first visit. Doing this ahead of time will expedite procedures during your first visit. You may want to review the counseling agreement also.
